The draw here is definitely the FOOD! and of course the dining atmosphere. I would stay there again mostly because the price was reasonable and the bed was comfortable. The rooms are not fancy or very large but nicely appointed and for the most part very clean. I would rate the rooms as "Average" because of the size. The shower was larger than the first but not large - average I would say. This room was a little larger and had a small kitchen corner in the room with a sink, refrigerator, two cooking burners and cupboards with plates and pots and pans. In the morning, my friend was sleeping about an inch off the floor - it had deflated so much. We asked for an additional blow-up bed and they said it would be queen-size but when we arrived it was a single and not a very firm blow-up bed. The second stay was a little larger room (Room #2). On the second visit, I mentioned this when I booked the room and requested that the shower be mold-free and it was. The room had a very small bathroom and tiny shower that had mold in it which was not very appealing, to say the least. Find some of the most interesting menus in town. On the first stay, in July, the bed was comfortable and they supplied a small refrigerator, table and chairs and of course a television (We were in room #3). If its great american food that youre after try Ember Woodfire Grill in Livonia. Both rooms were tastefully renovated and I loved that the floors were wood with no carpet and looked shiny clean. ![]() The rooms are small but perfect for a place to rest your head and do whatever brings you to Lake Conesus, NY. The Beachcomber has four rooms they rent for overnight guests. I have to say all the food I saw others eating on the way out looked fabulous. When we arrived there weren't many people but when we left it was packed. We enjoyed the atmosphere inside as well. the restaurant was very cozy and homey feeling with a wonderful view of the lake. We shared the Brussel Sprouts and they were very good! We dined inside in the restaurant on the second visit because it was a cold and rainy Fall night. On my first visit I had a seafood combo meal which was very good as did a friend I dined with and she was also quite happy with her meal. The mac and cheese was above average and the cutlet was cooked to perfection. I chose mac and cheese with breaded fried chicken cutlet on top. My dinner companion had a fish sandwich and said it was delicious. They offer a menu with a nice variety of choices and good size portions. Just the right amount of attentive - there when you want them but not hovering. The waitresses are very friendly and attentive. It appears to be a popular place for people staying on Lake Conesus to visit for dinner. The highlight of dining here is definitely sitting outside on a nice warm evening and enjoying the view of the lake and the atmosphere of a breeze coming off the lake and the live music playing in the distance. I have been there twice and both times the food was very good. The Beachcomber is mainly a lakeside restaurant with two bars, one in the restaurant and a separate bar by the water. I'll start with the food! My rating on this review of "Very Good" is for the food at The Beachcomber. If the restaurant is open and you love the nightlife, you would probably like the Beachcomber. The furniture was very outdated as well, but if it's clean, that is what matters. For the price paid, I would have expected a better mattress. At first, I was surprised how close to the road the door to the rooms were, but got over it. It was probably a blessing that the restaurant was closed because I have no idea where we would have parked if we had gone out for the evening. ![]() The Ember Woodfire Grill in Livonia was excellent! The seasonable boaters that came on and off the water were friendly as well. ![]() Great recommendations were given on where to eat in the area. A bonfire was lit when we arrive back from dinner our last night there. A little unexpected turn of events made it that the restaurant was closed, but Mary Alice did her best to make our stay enjoyable. We are offering very competitive pay and a full range of benefits.Decided on The Beachcomber based on the reviews, location and amenities (i.e., onsite restaurant and lake front property) and the super friendly correspondence with the owner prior to arriving. Experience with woodfire pizza and fresh, from scratch ingredients, cooking techniques, and equipment is a plus. Ember Woodfire Grill is seeking the employment of an experienced and motivated line/pizza/cook to join our culinary team. Livonia is in Livingston County NY, 30 minutes from Henrietta NY.
